BA Creative Collaboration Series


Process driven, site specific collaboration between professionals and student performers, designers, writers, and directors that begins in the classroom and ends with public showings. All performances are free and open to the public.

Tent
Led by Michael Sommers & Luverne Seifert
Performances will be held in a tent behind the Barbara Barker Center for Dance. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on.

An examination of current entertainment using the American forms of the Chautauqua, Tent Revival Meetings, the Minstrels Show, early vaudeville, the sideshow, and one-ring circus.

The Jungle and Oil!: A Theatrical Stimulus Package
Based on novels written by Upton Sinclair
Led by Kym Longhi & Karla Grotting
Performances will be held in the Xperimental Theatre

Juxtaposing the immigrant workers' struggles in Upton Sinclair’s novel The Jungle with the power-hungry oil magnates and senators featured in his later novel, Oil, this project plans to meld these worlds in order to discover how they inform each other about economic stimulus in a “boom or bust” “free market” economy.
